These are doctorinfierno's notes on Mistreated by Deep Purple.

I've been mistreated, I've been abused [1]
I've been struck downhearted, baby, I've been confused
'Cause I know, yes, I know I've been mistreated
Since my baby left me I've been losing my mind, you know I have

I've been lonely, I've been cold
I've been looking for a woman to have and hold
'Cause I know, yes, I know I've been mistreated
Since my baby left me I've been losing, I've been losing
I've been losing my mind, baby, baby, babe

I've been mistreated, I've been abused
I've been looking for a woman, yeah, I've been confused
'Cause I know, yes, I know I've been mistreated, ooh o-o-oh
Since my baby left me I've been losing, losing
I've been losing my mind, baby, baby, babe
Oh oh oh, oh woman, oh woman, oh woman

I've been losing my mind [2]

[1] Two songs that share a common word: Mistreated. They were recorded eight years apart by two different bands, Deep Purple and Rainbow, and both bands shared guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. From the original, recorded in 1974, David Coverdale (vocalist of Deep Purple Mk III-V) the once said:

"We recorded "Mistreated" from 11pm to 7:30 in the morning. I heard the first playbacks and thought it was terrible. It was so bad I just sat down and cried because I wanted it to be so good. Then the next night we had another session and I did it on the second take. It's like progressive blues. It wasn't raised in a shack by the railroad tracks but I've still had emotional hassles and that's the only kind of blues i can interpret. I tried very hard because I knew it was essential to get the strong emotive quality the song needs. The thing I wanted was for somebody listening to the song to think: 'I know what he's talking about' and get the feeling, then the song would be worth it. It's essentially a physical feeling. The reason it didn't come off straight away was simply that I was trying too hard."
